Orit Yanai began her career over 15 years ago. She was trained by one of San Francisco's most highly regarded painting companies known for its exquisite work on San Francisco homes. In 1995 Orit launched Orit Yanai, Inc., focusing on specialty painting techniques for interior walls.

After opening her studio at the Hunter Point artists' community in San Francisco, Orit began teaching herself the art of special wall finishes. Starting with paints and glazes, she became increasingly interested in working with a variety of plasters.

In mid 2003 she discovered Eco Design Resources, an eco-friendly home improvement showroom dedicated to aesthetic, sustainable design practices and products.

In 1995 Orit launched Orit Yanai, Inc., focusing on specialty painting techniques for interior walls. 	Eco Design Resources introduced her to a particular earth plaster, a "green" product from New Mexico made by American Clay. She fell in love with the material and went to Santa Fe to study privately with the man who developed it. She learned all about the clay and the myriad of available application techniques. She has since developed an impressive portfolio. Orit completed the 12-month program with the International Association for Color Consultants (IACC), graduating as a certified Professional Color Consultant. She successfully completed additional courses in color theory at UC Berkeley Extension. Orit hold a Painting Contractor License (CA lic. #743772), is an active member of the OWA (Organization of Women Architects), served on its Steering Committee 2003-2005, and has been an Affiliated member with ASID (American Society of Interior Design).
